Fact Check: Image Of Hollywood actor Gal Gadot Condemning Israel-Palestine War Is Photoshopped

Date:

A picture showing Hollywood actor Gal Gadot holding a placard with ‘Zionism is the new Nazism written on it’ is doing the rounds on social media. Many users claim that even Gal Gadot is against the ongoing war between Israel and Palestine.

A Facebook user posted the viral post with a caption: Even Gal Gadot has had enough!

FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the viral post, and found it to be false.

Running a Reverse Image Search of the viral picture, the NM team identified an Instagram post on her official handle, dated January 27. The image matches with the viral picture except its text on the board, which reads: ‘Today is Holocaust Remembrance Day. A day to honour the victims of the Holocaust. May we never forget.  ‘#WeRemember’.

The Daily Mail has also carried the same image in an article, dated January 28, 2018, with a title: ‘May we never forget’: Gal Gadot and Josh Gad lead tributes on Holocaust Remembrance Day, but with a different placard, confirming that the latter has been edited.

Therefore, we can conclusively say that the viral picture, claiming Gal Gadot posted a picture to condemn the ongoing Israel-Palestine war, is doctored.
