FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checked the post, and found it to be misleading.
Noticing the logo of UP Tak in the video, our team traced the same video uploaded on the YouTube channel of UP Tak on Jun 13, 2023. The clip is shared with a title: “Mayawati Politics Live:अचानक से मीडिया के सामने आईं मायावती और BJP-कांग्रेस की लगा दी क्लास!”
Going through the entire video carefully, we could not find the viral video statement anywhere. In the original video, she is talking about BJP and Congress and how both parties should respect people of all castes and regions.
At around 6:20 min of the video, she also announced that BSP would be contesting the state assembly elections alone and NOT with BJP or Congress.
We also found another video that was uploaded by ANI on July 19, 2023, with a caption: “#WATCH | BSP chief Mayawati, says, “We will fight the elections alone. We will contest the election on our own in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Telangana. In Haryana, Punjab, and other states, we can contest elections with the regional parties of the state.”
