Seems like Karan Johar and Kartik Aaryan have finally buried the hatchets, following their big fallout during Dostana 2. Well, we are saying so because the filmmaker has announced a new unnamed project with Kartik Aaryan. And what better than today, to announce this new project, as it is also Kartik’s birthday. The actor sure got a birthday gift.
Without revealing any more details of this new project, Karan has announced that his Dharma Productions will be joining hands with Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms and they will be co-producing it. The film will be directed by Sandeep Modi. The director’s last successful stint was Aditya Roy Kapoor starrer ‘The Night Manager’.
Karan took to his social media to announce this reunion with the actor for a new project. He captioned the post as, ‘Kickstarting today with some special news on a special day!! Extremely thrilled to announce @dharmamovies & @balajimotionpictures coming together for a film helmed by the exceptionally talented @sandeipm. I find myself elated to also announce the supremely talented @kartikaaryan as our lead for this story that will unfold in cinemas on 15th August 2025!!!! This news came after months of speculations. On several occasions, the two had hinted at reuniting for a project. In September this year, Kartik’s sudden visit to Karan’s house ignited fresh rumours of the two coming together for a project. However, the unversed KJo and Kartik had a major fallout, after the filmmaker had announced that they would be recasting for Dostana 2, that too after shooting certain scenes with Kartik. The filmmaker had cited professional circumstances.
Soon after the news was out, there were several rumours and reports that this decision was taken by the production because of Kartik’s unprofessional behaviour.
Now according to a source quoted in Bollywood Hungama, ‘Karan Johar and Kartik Aaryan amicably resolved their previous hiccup. Now, putting the past behind them, Kartik is set to do a Dharma Productions film which is in co-collaboration with Balaji Telefilms. It is an epic war drama which will portray Kartik in a different light.’
The source also added, ‘The backdoor conversations as heard over the last week, have resulted in an amicable resolution between Karan & Kartik’.
