Putting the picture through Reverse Image Search, the NM team found the original picture in an article by South China Morning Post, dated November 2014, with a headline: “Indian premier Narendra Modi’s estranged wife demands recognition.”
Another report by NDTV, dated 2014, mentions that ‘Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s estranged wife, Jashodaben, has filed an RTI request asking for an explanation of the sort of security that she gets from the government. After Modi was elected in May, Jashodaben was given round-the-clock security.
