Hyderabad: Congress Telangana President Revanth Reddy is all set to become the chief minister of the state, after Congress’ emphatic win in the state in the recently concluded Telangana assembly elections 2023. The swearing-in ceremony for Revanth Reddy is scheduled for Wednesday, December 6, as per reports.
Revanth Reddy’s tenacity and close ties with party workers on the ground were key factors linked to the success of Congress in the state.
Revanth Reddy played a crucial role in ensuring that the BRS faced anti-incumbency challenges in Telangana, contributing significantly to making Congress a credible alternative to the BRS.
Telangana underwent polls on November 30, and the results were announced on December 3, coinciding with the states of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan.
In the electoral outcome, Congress emerged victorious in the state, securing 64 seats. The BRS, having held power for two consecutive terms spanning a decade, secured a distant second position with 39 candidates winning. The BJP and the AIMIM secured 8 and 7 seats, respectively, while a CPI candidate clinched victory in one seat within the 119-member assembly.
