Taylor Swift Named TIME’s 2023 ‘Person Of The Year’

Date:

TIME magazine has declared pop sensation Taylor Swift as the ‘Person of the Year’ for 2023, lauding her unparalleled success since her debut 17 years ago, she holds the record for the most No. 1 albums among all women in history.

This recognition further cements her place as a powerhouse in the entertainment world, following her remarkable achievements and the immense success of her recent projects, including her Eras Tour and the widely acclaimed concert film.

Recently, Taylor Swift joined an exclusive club of billionaires, as reported by Bloomberg last month. With an estimated net worth of $1.1 billion, the celebrated singer-songwriter joined a select group of musical artists to reach such financial heights, alongside iconic names like Rihanna, Beyoncé, and Jay-Z.

The editor-in-chief of Time magazine, Sam Jacobs, hailed Taylor Swift as a rare person, describing her as the “hero of her own story”. Jacobs emphasised Swift’s ability to transcend boundaries and serve as a beacon of positivity and inspiration.

Earlier on Monday, Time Magazine announced its shortlist of candidates for the title. Notable figures like Chinese President Xi Jinping, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, and Russian President Vladimir Putin were contenders for the prestigious title.
