Revanth Reddy, known for his strong criticism of outgoing Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, led the Congress to victory in the recent Assembly polls, securing 64 seats out of 119, defeating the incumbent Bharat Rashtra Samiti. He had previously won the Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections in 2014 but lost the seat in the 2019 Telangana Assembly elections.
Having switched from TDP to Congress in 2017, Revanth Reddy was appointed as the president of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee in June 2021. The Congress achieved an absolute majority in Telangana, winning 64 seats in the recent elections.
