Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, leader of a fringe group Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena, was gunned down by three men at his residence in Jaipur. Meantime, an image showing two men in police custody has gone viral on social media, claiming that two culprits in Gogamedi murder case have been arrested.
A Facebook user shared this image and wrote, “अगर इन कुट्टो को सरकार नहीं मारती है तो ब्राह्मण समाज और सर्व समाज मिलकर इने कुत्तो को मारे एक राजपूत शेर को ये गोली मारे हैं इन्हें घसीट कर मारा जाए तड़पा तड़पा कर मारे जिसमें कोई दूसरा व्यक्ति ऐसा पाया ना हो, जय श्री राम जय श्री परशुराम.” [English translation: If the government does not kill these dogs, then the entire society should together kill these dogs. With Reverse Image Search, the NM team traced the viral video in the report of ETV Bharat, dated August 22, 2023, with a title: “Two miscreants who came from Gangapur to Jaipur to sell weapons, caught by the police, three pistols and 9 live cartridges seized.” According to the report, police arrested two miscreants who were roaming around in Jaipur trying to sell illegal weapons. Police have recovered three pistols and 9 live cartridges from their possession.
According to a report by Patrika, dated August 2023, the accused were identified as Manish Singh Gurjar and Vishnu Rajput. A case was registered against both of them under the Arms Act at Shivdaspura police station in Jaipur.
It is to be noted that Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi was gunned down by two shooters in his Jaipur house on December 5. Thus, it is clear that the viral image old, and has nothing to do with the recent Gagamedia murder case.
