Fact Check: Old Video Of Rajasthan MLA Balak Nath Threatening A Cop Viral As Recent

A video of Baba Balak Nath, the current MLA from the Tijara constituency in Rajasthan is doing rounds on social media where he can be seen threatening a cop. The post implies that the video was taken after the election results were declared.

The post is being shared with the caption, “राजस्थान मे भो** वालों की दादागिरी शुरू. इंसान के पास जो होता नही ओर अचानक आ जाये तो हजम नही होता.”

(English Translation: Bullying started in Rajasthan. What a person doesn’t have and if it comes suddenly, he can’t digest it.)

NewsMobile fact-checked the post and found the video to be old.

The video had the logo of The Quint, so we ran a keyword search and found the same video in a report dated Jan 08, 2023.

they shared the same video on YouTube with the title, “BJP MP From Alwar Threatens DSP: BJP सांसद बाबा बालकनाथ ने थाने में DSP को दी धमकी | Rajasthan।Quint”

As per the report, Baba Balaknath, the then BJP MP from Alwar, Rajasthan, lost his temper while lashing out at a DSP when four workers were detained. He called DSP Anand Rao a goon in uniform.

The above fact check proves that the video is old and was not taken after the 2023 Assembly election results were announced.
