New Delhi: Designer Gunnar Deatherage has undertaken a distinctive project merging fashion and public health. Teaming up with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, Deatherage has crafted an eye-catching dress using expired condoms, aiming to draw awareness to sexual health.
This unconventional project, focused on spreading awareness about sexual health, was captured in a widely shared YouTube video. “I made a dress out of condoms and it’s stunning,” read the caption of the video.
In the video, Deatherage artfully transforms condoms into floral shapes with the use of pins and zip ties. He elevates their look by spray-painting them, introducing a touch of sophistication. These embellished elements are carefully stitched onto the hem of a stylish black dress, resulting in an outfit that would seamlessly fit in on the Met Gala’s red carpets.
