FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the viral post and found the claims to be false.

Running a Reverse Image search of the video keyframes led us to an Instagram Post from November 16, 2023, published on the official handle of Vestiaire Collective. The caption suggests that the video was part of a campaign aimed at boycotting fast fashion. The video matches with the viral clip exactly but it predates the recent Zara campaign.

Harper Bazaar also covered the video through an article on November 17, 2023.

We can see the Instagram post embedded in the article confirming that it has nothing to do with the recent Zara boycott.

Therefore, we can conclusively say that the viral post, claiming Americans are throwing away their Zara clothes after the recent boycott, is false.
