‘Koffee’ with a K is becoming our favourite thing, that too on a Thursday. Why you ask? Well, it is because, it’s another Thursday which means a new episode of Koffee With Karan, promising us all the new Bollywood masala, new dynamics, new equations, new projects, reminiscing old days and memories and so much more. And this new episode was everything like that, thanks to this new pair of guests on the show.

The two new guests of the 9th episode of Koffee With Karan were two people whose association is 3 decades old and goes beyond the mere relationship of a director and an actor. Yes, we are talking about Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty. This particular episode was all about reliving the 33 years of association and every little thing in between.

Highlights of the episode:

Addressed the ‘N’ word: Well, the one word everyone is obsessed with when it comes to Bollywood is Nepotism. And in this episode, Ajay Devgn addressed the debate around nepotism. The actor highlighted, that years of struggle go into being where one is today. It is not easy for anyone be it the one’s some or the other way associated with the industry or the outsiders. Everyone has to do the same level of hardwork. The actor said, ‘The struggle is the same for everyone, and you have to work hard’.

Kids entering the industry: Both Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty shared whether their kids are planning to enter the industry or not. Ajay shared that his darling daughter as of now has no plans of entering the industry. Whereas, Rohit Shetty shared that his son Ishaan has an inclination towards acting and will soon join the industry. However, at the same time, the director also highlighted that his son will have to start from scratch and will in no way be given any extra credit and treatment because of his father.

Failure of Ranveer Singh starrer Cirkus: At the end of the day it is all about business, so one has to talk about films that did well and films that did not do well. For Rohit Shetty, it was Ranveer Singh starrer Cirkus. He shared that the film’s failure meant he failed as a director. However, Rohit also shared on he dealt with this commercial failure. He shared this sweet story when Anupam Kher visited his office post the film’s release. Anupam Kher had said, ‘After a point in your life, when you’ve worked so much, it’s the event that fails, it’s not you’.

Ajay hates socialising: Well this is no secret. Time and again on different platforms and during different interviews, this thing has been addressed. How Ajay Devgn hates attending parties or socialising in a big crowd. Ajay shared that he prefers a low profile because he feels uncomfortable in social settings. The actor shared that he prefers more personal and private interactions. He jokingly shared, that o days when he actually decides to attend any gathering, he might end up falling sick by the evening, leading to some light-hearted arguments with his wife Kajol.

Ajay and Salman’s reaction to success and failure: Talking about how people deal with failure these days, Rohit Shetty shared an interesting trait of both Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn. The director shared that both the mega movie stars have a very similar way of dealing with both success and failure. The director shared irrespective of the fact whether their movies have done good or bad, both the leading men have a very nonchalant attitude towards it. Both of them will always be found casually chilling outside their irrespective of the box-office verdict.
