Priyanka Gandhi Vadra Relieved As UP Incharge, Sachin Pilot Appointed Chattisgarh Incharge


New Delhi: In a significant party rehuffle, the Congress announced a change in leadership on Saturday, relieving Priyanka Gandhi Vadra from her role as the AICC in-charge of Uttar Pradesh. Avinash Pande has been appointed as her successor to lead the UP Congress.

This comes just months before the 2024 general elections.

Additionally, Sachin Pilot has been appointed Congress General Secretary in charge of Chhattisgarh Congress while Ramesh Chennithala was appointed as AICC in charge of Maharashtra.

Randeep Singh Surjewala has been appointed as general secretary of Karnataka Congress, a commune issued by party national General Secretary KC Venugopal said.

Deepa Dasmunshi has been appointed as the General Secretary of the Kerala, Lakshadweep and additional charge of Telangana Congress units. Further, GA Mir was appointed as the General Secretary of the Jharkhand party unit, with an additional charge of West Bengal.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, however, has no assigned post in the party as of now. Bhawar Jitendra Singh has been given additional Charge of Madhya Pradesh. Milind Deora and Vijay Inder Singla were appointed as joint treasurers of the party.

Mohan Prakash, Bharat Singh Solanki, Girish Chodankar, Ramesh Chenithala among the new AICC state incharges for the states. Bhakt Charan Dass, Harish Chaudhary, Tariq Anwar, Rajni Patil, Manish Chatrath were relieved as incharges.
