FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the above claim, and found it to be FALSE.

With a keyword search on Google — verifying the details about the article — we came to know that the actual headline of the article is different from the one shown in the viral screenshot. The original headline was ‘Massive statue of Hindu god being built in Brampton,’ and it did not mention human faeces. Additionally, the article’s lede did not align with the implications suggested by the viral screenshot.

According to various reports, the Hindu Sabha Mandir in Brampton — part of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) in Canada — is in the process of constructing a 55-ft statue of Lord Hanuman. The statue, nearly finished, is slated for unveiling on April 23 next year, coinciding with the celebration of Hanuman Jayanti. The construction of this statue is being overseen by sculptor Naresh Kumawat from Rajasthan. In response to opposition and negativity from certain locals, the temple administration has increased security measures around the statue.

Thus, we can conclusively say that the viral screenshot is edited.
