Gangster Goldy Brar Declared Terrorist By Centre

Date:

New Delhi: The central government on Monday declared Gangster Goldy Brar a terrorist under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. The Ministry of Home Affairs notice stated his association with the banned Khalistani outfit, Babbar Khalsa International.

According to the Home Ministry, Goldy Brar, supported by cross-border terror agencies, has been implicated in various killings. He is also involved in making threatening calls to pro-nationalist leaders, demanding ransom, and sharing claims of killings on various social media platforms.

The Canada-based terrorist claimed responsibility for the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala in 2022. Moose Wala was shot and killed in Punjab’s Mansa district in May 2022. Following the incident, the police identified Brar as the mastermind behind the murder.

The Home Ministry said that Goldy Brar was engaged in the illicit transportation of high-grade arms, ammunition, and explosive materials through drones from across the border. These supplies were then distributed to sharpshooters for carrying out killings.

The Ministry added that Brar and his associates were actively “conspiring to disrupt the peace, communal harmony, and law and order in the State of Punjab through nefarious designs, including sabotage, establishing terror modules, conducting targeted killings, and engaging in other anti-national activities.”

In June 2022, Interpol issued a Red Corner Notice (RCN) seeking Goldy Brar’s extradition, a few days after the murder of Sidhu Moose Wala.
