Fact Check: Video From Varanasi Falsely Shared As 25,000 ‘Havan Kunds’ Being Built for Ayodhya Ram Mandir Inauguration

A video showing multiple religious structures is widely shared on social media, claiming that 25,000 ‘Havan Kunds’ will be made for the inauguration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

The video is shared with a caption: “খুব “সুন্দর” দৃশ্য… “অযোধ্যায়” এক সাথে এই “২৫০০০ হবন কুণ্ডে” যজ্ঞের দ্বারা “প্রভুর মন্দির” এর উদ্বোধন হবে… “জয় শ্রী রাম” (English translation: Very “beautiful” scene… In “Ayodhya” the “Temple of the Lord” will be inaugurated by this “25,000 Havan Kunds” yajna together… “Jai Shri Ram.)

NewsMobile fact-checked the above claim, and found it to be MISLEADING.

Performing a Reverse Image Search of the viral video keyframes, the NM team spotted a YouTube channel carrying the same video on December 18, 2023, claiming that it was from the Swarveda Mahamandir Dham in Varanasi.

We found another video on ‘Discover Braz’ channel, uploaded on December 12, showing the same visual with a description.

The flags and pandals seen in vlog videos closely resemble those seen in the viral video.

Further, we also found the live video of the event where Prime Minister Narendra Modi can be seen speaking on the occasion.

Thus, we can conclusively say that the viral video is from Varanasi and not Ram Temple construction in Ayodhya.
