January 22, 2024: The day when the consecration of Ram Lalla (a child-like form of lord Ram) will take place in Ayodhya’s Ram Temple is almost Dignitaries from different walks of life including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, big film superstars, cricketers and businessmen, even the representatives from different countries, are all set to be part of the event.
Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya is gearing up for this huge celebration. Preparations are in full swing. The consecration is scheduled to take place on January 22, however, the rituals will begin from January 16 itself and will go on for the next seven days. The Ram Mandir’s trust has released a proper schedule for these seven days as well.
Let’s take a look at all the events and rituals that are set to take place in Ayodhya from January 16 to January 22, 2024:
On January 16, the Temple trust’s appointed host will oversee the atonement ceremony, including the ‘Dashvidh’ bath by the banks of river Saryu. Rituals encompass Vishnu worship and Godan.
The following day, January 17, will witness a procession carrying the idol of Lord Ram in his child-like form (Ram Lalla), accompanied by devotees bearing Saryu water in Mangal Kalash.
Moving to January 18, various rituals such as Ganesh Ambika Puja, Varun Puja, Matrika Puja, Brahmin Varan, and Vastu Puja will be conducted.
Continuing on January 19, Agni Sthapana, Navagraha Sthapana, and Havan ceremonies will be performed.
As January 20 arrives, the Ram Temple’s sanctum sanctorum will be cleansed with sacred Saryu water, followed by rituals like Vaastu Shanti and Annadhivas.
January 21 marks the divine bath of the Ram Lalla deity with 125 urns, along with the observance of the Shayadhivas ritual.
Finally, on January 22, morning worship of the Ram Lalla deity will occur, culminating in its consecration in the afternoon during the Mrigashira Nakshatra.
