Ayodhya: Ahead of the Pran Pratistha ceremony on January 22 the sacred idol of Lord Ram was brought into the inner sanctum of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, marking the ceremonial preparation for its installation.
Before bringing the idol into the temple, a special puja took place in the sanctum sanctorum. Crafted from black stone by Mysuru sculptor Arun Yogiraj, the idol, weighing approximately 150-200 kg, was carefully lifted by a crane from the accompanying truck during an evening procession.
The procession made a symbolic stop at the Hanumangarhi temple in Ayodhya. On Wednesday, the idol was brought into the temple for the first time, marking the second day of the weeklong rituals leading up to Monday’s Pran Pratishtha ceremony.
Earlier, Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra, in a post on X late Wednesday, said that the procession of the idol of Lord Shri Ram Lalla was completed with enthusiasm and the recitation of Anand Ramayana started in the pavilion.
