FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the viral post, and found it to be false.

Along with many Bollywood celebrities, Akshay Kumar had also got an invitation to attend the consecration ceremony. With Google keyword search, the NM team spotted a YouTube video on the official channel of UP Tak reporting from the ground where the video was recorded. According to the locals who were dancing in the video, a few sages came to them and started dancing. This is when the locals recorded the video and later felt that one of the sages resembled Bollywood star Akshay Kumar. There was no conclusive proof that the person was actually Akshay Kumar.

Searching further, our team identified another news article in Hindustan Times clarifying that Kumar won’t be able to join the Ram Mandir consecration in Ayodhya due to professional commitments. It further states that he was in Jordan with Tiger Shroff for a film shooting.

Another news article in The Times of India carries a clip by Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff wishing all the Indians for the Ram temple consecration ceremony.

This clarifies that the person in the video is not Akshay Kumar, as he was in Jordan on the day of the ceremony. Therefore, we can conclusively say that the viral post, claiming Akshay Kumar reached Ayodhya in disguise and danced with local residents, is false.
