If Burj Khalifa had illuminated the Indian flag on the occasion of Republic Day, there would have been credible news coverage. However, we did not find any substantiated news report on this matter.
Searching through the official Instagram handle of Burj Khalifa, our team came across a video, dated January 26, 2023, with similar visuals of the iconic tower lit up with the Indian flag. The caption reads: “نضيء الليلة #برج_خليفة احتفالاً بجمهورية الهند، متمنين لهم الرخاء والتقدّم والازدهار.(English translation: Lighting up the night #برج_خليفة celebrating Republic of India, wishing them prosperity, progress and prosperity.)
BurjKhalifa lights up in celebration of India’s Republic Day. Wishing its people prosperity and peace.”
Another report by The Free Press Journal, dated January 26, 2023, has also displayed a similar picture with a headline: “Burj Khalifa lights up with tricolour on Republic Day: ‘To the nation that has prospered for 74 years’ (WATCH).”
Based on the above findings, we can conclusively state that Burj Khalifa did not illuminate the Indian flag on January 26, 2024, and the video is pretty old.
