New Delhi: JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar created history on Sunday as he was sworn in as the Chief Minister of the eastern state for an unprecedented ninth term.
This reappointment comes after he left the Mahagathbandhan coalition and formed an alliance with the NDA, led by the BJP. The oath-taking ceremony was conducted by Bihar Governor Rajendra Arlekar at Raj Bhavan in Patna.
Earlier in the day, Nitish Kumar resigned from his position, leading to the dissolution of the Mahagathbandhan government. He swiftly sought to form a new government, securing the support of 128 MLAs, which included members of JD(U) and the NDA coalition.
