Nearly 19 Lakh Devotees Visit Ram Mandir Since Inauguration

Date:

Ayodhya: Nearly 19 lakh devotees have visited the recently inaugurated Ram Mandir in Ayodhya since it opened on January 22.

After the consecration ceremony on January 23, the temple has attracted around 18.75 lakh pilgrims who are eager to see the idol of Lord Ram.

On the opening day alone, an astonishing 500,000 visitors came, and the numbers have stayed consistently high, with daily visits averaging over 200,000.

Local authorities and the temple trust have put in considerable effort to handle the crowds and ensure a smooth experience for worshippers. Measures have been implemented to organize queues effectively and maintain safety standards during the large gatherings.

The temple complex showcases traditional Nagara-style architecture, featuring 392 pillars and 44 doors decorated with intricate carvings of Hindu deities. The sanctum sanctorum is home to the idol of Ram Lalla.

To manage the large influx of devotees, the temple administration has scheduled specific time slots for darshan, accommodating visitors’ schedules with morning and evening ‘aarti’ timings.

The temple’s construction is expected to be finished by December 2024.
