New Delhi: A young man from Bihar’s Kaimur district pretended to be kidnapped so he could get money from his dad for studying in Kota. The incident came to light when he didn’t come back home after going for an exam on Thursday.
The family got a call asking for a Rs 2 lakh ransom, stating their son was kidnapped. They were told to deposit the money into their son’s account.
Upon interrogation, he confessed that he had staged his own abduction to secure funds for his education.
He revealed that his father had reserved money for his sister’s upcoming marriage and had promised to give him the money after the wedding, according to the police.
After questioning, he admitted to faking his own kidnapping to get money for education.
He shared that his dad had set aside money for his sister’s wedding and had promised to give it to him after the marriage, as per the police.
