The NM team identified the logo of Sansad TV on the top right corner and scanned through their YouTube channel to find the original video.
The video had been uploaded on February 2, 2024, with a title: “Mallikarjun Kharge’s Remarks | Motion of Thanks on the President’s Address | 02 February 2024.”
Checking the viral video carefully, we found that the clip can be seen at 45 min 56 seconds. Here, he is referring to the BJP’s claim that they will get more than 400 seats in the elections.
In the original video, while talking about reservations of women, he asked why the government submitted a counter affidavit to a PIL seeking urgent implementation of ‘Women’s Reservation Bill’ if they have a majority of 300-345.
He also said: “You have such a majority, earlier it was 330, 334, and now it is crossing 400. Sir, I want to say send them (other MPs) first and then we will know. Everyone has come here by the grace of Modi and are now clapping. We fought for MLA, fought for MP and today we have come to Rajya Sabha. These people here have come with the blessings of Modi ji. And now they are beating the table… Beating the drum themselves – 400 will come, 500 will come. You will not be able to cross even 100 this time.”
