Uddhav Sena Leader Abhishek Ghosalkar Shot Dead During Facebook Live

Date:

Mumbai: Abhishek Goshalkar, a former Shiv Sena corporator and the son of a former MLA, was shot during a personal dispute in Mumbai’s Dahisar area on Thursday.

Abhishek, in critical condition, was transported to Karuna Hospital in Borivali, where he succumbed to injuries.

This incident took place shortly after a BJP MLA was captured on camera firing at a leader from the Eknath Shinde faction inside a police station in Ulhasnagar, prompting concerns about the state of law and order in Maharashtra.

Abhishek Ghosalkar, the son of Shivsena (UBT) leader Vinod Ghosalkar, was involved in a Facebook livestream with someone named Mauris Bhai.

Mauris Bhai left the livestream and subsequently fired three shots at Ghosalkar. Following this, Mauris Bhai took his own life, as reported by the police.

Abhishek Ghosalkar was quickly taken to Karuna Hospital and is currently receiving medical care.

The police have said that Abhishek Ghosalkar was shot due to ‘personal enmity.’

In a separate incident in Maharashtra’s Ulhasnagar, BJP MLA Ganpat Gaikwad shot Shiv Sena leader Mahesh Gaikwad inside a senior cop’s cabin at the Hill Line police station. The confrontation arose during a complaint filing session over a longstanding land dispute, leading to injuries for both politicians and Shiv Sena MLA Rahul Patil.
