Fact Check: Notice Regarding New Dates For UP Police Constable Examination Is Fake

The Uttar Pradesh government cancelled the police constable recruitment examination following a paper leak and announced that the re-examination would be conducted within next six months.

Against the background, a circular is doing the rounds on social media, claiming that the re-examination will be held on June 20 & 21.

NewsMobile fact-checked the post, and found it to be false.

Going through the official website of the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment & Promotion Board, the NM team could not find any such notice about the new date. The last notice was issued on February 24, 2024, announcing the cancellation of the paper.

Searching further, we also found a tweet, dated February 29, 2023, on their official account refuting the viral claim. The post reads: “Fake letter regarding written examination of constable recruitment-23 is being viral. No such letter/information has been issued by the Board. Information related to the examination will be published along with the release on the Board’s website and official X handle  @Upprpb. @Uppolice.”

Thus, from the above fact check, it is clear that the notice regarding the new dates for the UP police constable recruitment in circulation is false.
