New Delhi: In a thrilling encounter at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Friday, Royal Challengers Bangalore displayed nerves of steel as they clinched a remarkable five-run victory over defending champions Mumbai Indians in the ongoing Women’s Premier League.

  • RCB successfully defended a low target of 136 runs against the defending champions Mumbai Indians.
  • RCB skipper Smriti Mandhana won the toss and decided to bat first. Despite losing a few early wickets, Ellyse Perry’s stellar performance helped RCB reach a total of 135, losing six wickets.
  • Perry emerged as the highest run-scorer for RCB with 66 runs off 50 balls, while Georgia Wareham also contributed crucial 18 runs off just 10 balls.
  • Hayley Matthews, Nat Sciver-Brunt, and Saika Ishaque each took two wickets for Mumbai Indians in the first innings.
  • Defending a low total, RCB bowlers bowled brilliantly to restrict MI to just 130 runs. RCB managed to clinch six wickets of the defending champions.
  • Shreyanka Patil led the bowling attack with two crucial wickets, while Ellyse Perry, Sophie Molineux, Georgia Wareham, and Asha Sobhana each contributed with a wicket.
  • With this win, RCB will face Delhi Capitals in the final of the second season of the Women’s Premier League on Sunday.
