London: Amid a series of speculations, the Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, on Friday in a video message revealed that she has cancer and is undergoing chemotherapy.
Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales and wife of Prince William spent two weeks in hospital in January after having what her office said at the time was successful, planned surgery for an unspecific condition. However, Kate has said that in subsequent tests cancer has been found but said that she is well and getting stronger.
In a video filmed on Wednesday Kate said that her medical team has advised her to go under a course of preventive chemotherapy and she is in the early stages of the treatment. She also said that it came as a huge shock and she and William did everything they could to process and manage it safely for the sake of their family. King Charles also revealed in February that he was getting cancer treatment and had to postpone his royal duties as king.
Both Kate and William wanted privacy about the Cancer until their children George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5, began their school holidays which started on Friday. She also said that it took some time from a major surgery for her to recover and start her treatment. She also mentioned that it has taken time for her and William to explain everything to their kids Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis in a way which is appropriate for them and to reassure them that their mother will be ok.
She also told her children that she is well and getting stronger every day by focusing on things which will help her heal in her mind, body and spirit.
