FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checked the viral post, and found the claims to be misleading.
Running the viral video keyframes through Reverse Image Search, our team identified a YouTube video on the verified channel of Pashton Plus, dated September 12, 2023. One of the images in the video matches with the viral clip, describing that the Taliban is capturing posts and damaging flag in Pakistan.
We also came across a tweet dated September 11, 2023. The video seems like a longer version of the viral clip and the caption confirms that TTP is entering Pak army headquarters in Chitral.
Given that it has been online since September, it cannot be linked to the ongoing tussle between the two countries.
A news article in India Today, dated September 12, 2023, carries an image that matches with one of the keyframes of the video in the tweet. This confirms that the viral video is not linked to the ongoing events.
Therefore, we can conclusively say that the viral post, claiming to show a Pak army post being captured by the Afghan military amidst the ongoing tussle, is misleading.
