A video showing people holding ‘No Vote To BJP’ placards at different locations abroad has gone viral on social media, linking it to the upcoming 2024 General elections.

NewsMobile fact-checked the post, and found it to be misleading.

With a keyword search, we found the same clip uploaded on the YouTube channel, dated February 13, 2021, with a title: No Vote to BJP. Not a single vote for BJP.

In their X and Instagram pages, the Bengalis have also used the hashtag #BengalElections2021 in the bio.

Multiple media reports from 2021 talk about the ‘No Vote To BJP’  a campaign led by common people. The media reports can be seen herehere and here.

Thus, it is clear that the viral video is old.
