Delhi CM In Jail: Here’s What Arvind Kejriwal Is Allowed In Prison

New Delhi: The Delhi court has granted special provisions for Arvind Kejriwal during his 14-day stay in Tihar Jail following his arrest in connection with the alleged liquor policy scam on Monday.

These provisions include home-cooked meals, bottled water, and a supply of toffees in case of sudden drops in blood sugar levels, considering his diabetic condition and weak immune system.

Additionally, Kejriwal will be permitted to meet his wife, Sunita Kejriwal, during his time in jail, and he will have access to bed linen from home, including pillows and a quilt. Medical equipment will also be provided to monitor his health effectively.

The court asked authorities to provide one table and chair, a religious locket to Kejriwal. Authorities have also been asked to provide the Delhi Chief Minister with three books – copies of the Bhagvad Gita and the Ramayan, and a book by journalist Neerja Chowdhury ‘How Prime Ministers Decide’.

Earlier in the day, the Delhi Chief Minister was remanded to judicial custody until April 15 after appearing before Special Judge Kaveri Baweja at the Rouse Avenue Court. Kejriwal was arrested on March 21 by the Enforcement Directorate about the excise policy case and has spent 10 days in ED custody, after court direction.
