New Delhi: A 99-year-old Indian woman embarked on a new journey in her life as she officially became a citizen of the US. Daibai finished her formalities at the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) office in Orlando by taking the oath of loyalty.
A photo of Daibai holding a certificate and sitting in a wheelchair with her daughter and the officer who swore her in was posted by the USCIS. The agency stated that “age is just a number” and referred to the nonagenarian woman as “lively”.
USCIS on X posted “They say age is just a number. That seems true for this lively 99-year-old who became a #NewUSCitizen in our Orlando office. Daibai is from India and was excited to take the oath of allegiance. She’s pictured with her daughter and our officer who swore her in. Congrats Daibai!”
