Mumbai: In a much-needed boost for the struggling Mumbai Indians, who have yet to secure a victory in the ongoing IPL season under new captain Hardik Pandya, the number one ranked T20I batter, Suryakumar Yadav, has joined the MI camp. His arrival comes ahead of the team’s crucial clash against Delhi Capitals (DC) at home, scheduled for Sunday.
Mumbai Indians took to its official X (formerly Twitter) to announce Yadav’s arrival. “सूर्या दादा is here, Paltan! 💙,” MI posted
In yet another video posted by MI’s official handle, SKY, can be seen playing his signature ‘Supla Shot’. MI posted, “clears throat SUPLAAA SHOTTT #MumbaiMeriJaan #MumbaiIndians | @surya_14kumar.”
Surya needed surgery for both an ankle and a sports hernia. As a result, he was ruled out of India’s three-match T20I series against Afghanistan at home and was also not seen playing for MI in the first three matches. With Surya’s inclusion, MI will be bolstered and hopeful to register their first win of the season.
