Running a Reverse Image Search of the video keyframes, the NM team identified a tweet, dated April 26, 2022, on an unverified profile. The caption indicates that it shows a fire near Mukarba Chowk in North Delhi. It is worth noting that the Ghazipur landfill is in East Delhi.
Searching further, we found a news report in The Times of India, dated April 27, 2022, containing a similar video as the viral one. As per the article, the incident happened at the Bhalswa landfill in North Delhi.
Similar news articles were also published in Hindustan Times and The Indian Express.
Therefore, we can conclusively say that the viral post, claiming the Ghazipur garbage dump in Delhi caught fire, is false.
