FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checked the viral post, and found it to be fake.
Running a Reverse Image Search of the video keyframes, the NM team identified a tweet on an unverified profile, dated December 17, 2023. Here, the caption makes the same claim as the viral post, but the location is in Uttar Pradesh, not Bihar.
Searching further, our team traced a NDTV news report, dated December 8, 2023. The surroundings in the report match somewhat with the viral clip, describing that the incident happened in Mau district of UP.
We also came across a YouTube video, titled: Mau: Ghosi में गिरी दीवार, शादी में जा रही 6 महिलाओं की मौत, CM Yogi ने जताया दुख | Breaking News, published on the official channel of NDTV. The news bulletin explains the entire incident in detail, clarifying that the accident happened in UP, not Bihar.
As per the report, some women from the village were taking part in a marriage ritual near an old wall which collapsed and fell on them. Therefore, we can conclusively say that the claim by the viral post is MISLEADING.
