Porbandar: The Indian Coast Guard (ICG), intercepted a suspicious Pakistani boat which had nearly 86 KG of drugs worth 600 crore. After receiving intelligence, the Coast Guard along with the Anti-terrorism Squad (ATS) and the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), launched a crackdown on the drug trafficking syndicate operating in the region as per a report by NDTV.
Fourteen members of the Pakistani ship’s crew were also taken into custody in addition to the drugs. “In a breathtaking overnight operation, the Indian Coast Guard undertook an intelligence-based anti-narcotics operation at sea,” the Coast Guard stated in a press release. About 86 kilos of drugs valued at ₹ 600 crores were seized from the Pakistani boat, along with 14 crew members.
To guarantee operational efficiency, the Coast Guard simultaneously sent ships and planes on missions. With representatives from the NCB and ATS on board, the Coast Guard ship Rajratan was one of the main vessels involved in the operation.
The suspicious drug-filled boat made an effort to avoid detection, but the watchful ship found it and stopped it. After a comprehensive investigation by a trained team from the ship, the presence of drugs on board was confirmed. The crew of the captured Pakistani boat is being transported to Porbandar for more inquiry.
