IPL 2024: Sudharsan, Shahrukh’s Half-Centuries Guide GT To 200/3 Against RCB

Date:

Ahmedabad: Sai Sudharsan and Shahrukh Khan’s impressive half-centuries propelled Gujarat Titans (GT) to a formidable total of 200/3 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.

After an early setback with Wriddhiman Saha’s dismissal, Sudharsan stepped up to the crease and delivered a scintillating performance, smashing boundaries with precision. His innings of 84 runs off just 49 balls not only stabilized GT’s position but also set the tone for an imposing total. Supported by Shubman Gill initially, Sudharsan’s aggressive approach propelled GT to a commanding position.

Following the early loss of Gill, Shahrukh Khan joined Sudharsan at the crease and together, the duo orchestrated a remarkable recovery for GT. Khan’s explosive batting display, marked by his 58 runs from just 30 balls, injected momentum into GT’s innings. After his dismissal in the 15th over David Miller stepped up to the plate and played a crucial role in building a formidable total.

Partnering with Sudharsan, Miller orchestrated a vital 69-run partnership, ensuring GT’s innings ended on a high note. Miller’s composed innings of 26 runs from 19 balls provided the necessary support to Sudharsan’s explosive onslaught, further bolstering GT’s total to a formidable 200/3.

RCB skipper Faf du Plessis won the toss and elected to bowl first against GT. After winning the RCB captain Faf du Plessis said, “The wicket will be better later, so we will like to chase. With so many high scores the nature of this game has changed, our bowlers have been exceptional in the last two games. We have scored big with the bat, those are the changes. Maxwell comes back in, we have some firepower in the middle-order.”

GT Shubman Gill captain at the toss said, “Would have chased as well, looks a really good wicket. Need to put a good total on the board. We have batted decently, we lost by a difference of just one ball in the last game. This is the right time to peak for us.”
