A video claiming to show actor Robert De Niro arguing with pro-Palestine protesters in New York is doing the rounds on social media. Many users have criticised De Niro for supporting Israel and speaking against the protesters.
A Facebook user posted (archived link) the viral post with the following caption:
Pro-Israeli propagandist and agitator Robert De Niro rode up to a crowd of pro-Palestinian demonstrators in New York and showed them :
– This is not a movie, this is life! It would be better if they went to work instead of talking nonsense. They (Hamas) say they are ready to repeat (October 7). Is this really what you want? No! And no one wants to! So stop fooling around.

FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checked the viral post, and found it to be false.
Running a Reverse Image Search of the video keyframes, the NM team identified multiple pictures on Getty Images. De Niro can be seen wearing the same attire as in the viral clip, describing that the actor was on set while filming for the series Zero Day. The actors around him match the viral clip, too.
We could not see any link between the filming of the series and the pro-Palestinian protests going on in the country. Searching further, we came across a news article in The Jerusalem Post, dated May 1, 2024. The article was edited from the original version, which mistakenly reported that declared De Niro was yelling at the protesters. The Jerusalem Post admitted that the claim was false and the actor was, indeed, rehearsing his lines for the series.
Therefore, we can conclusively say that the viral post, claiming De Niro argues with pro-Palestine protesters in New York, is fabricated.
