Tips to encourage your kids to eat healthy

Date:

It is a universal fact that healthy food doesn’t taste or look as appetising as junk food. Your kids will always want to push you to let them have junk instead. Here are some tips to encourage your kids to eat better.

Repetitive is boring

Try and change the menu every now and then. If you keep repeating what is on the menu, then your kids will get bored and demand more options that look better and easier to make.

Don’t ban junk food

Cravings are extremely natural so you should not ban junk food entirely but control and moderate by taking your kids out for a pizza or ice cream once in a while. This can help their cravings and limit their overall consumption of sugary, fatty foods.

Make food more attractive

Kids love to use their imagination. Change the basic items into interesting shapes and sizes and make it into a game. Having a variety of colors is both healthy and appealing to the eye. Tell a story with their meals.

Prepare meals together

Preparing meals together is a great way to get kids interested in food and to help them understand what goes into healthy food. It can also make for a great activity that you can do together.
