Don’t believe this fake picture of these political leaders with Imran Khan

Date:

A picture is being widely shared on social media which shows Rahul Gandhi, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Punjab minister Navjot Singh Sidhu and BJP-turned-Congress leader Shatrughan Sinha sitting on chairs behind Imran Khan and Pakistan’s Army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa.

The caption of the picture reads- “ನೀವು ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಗೆ ಮತ ಹಾಕಿದರೆ ಪಾಕಿಸ್ತಾನ ಕ್ಕೆ ಮತ ಹಾಕಿದ ಹಾಗೆ.ಚಿತ್ರ ನೋಡಿ ಪಾಕಿಸ್ತಾನ ದ ಪರ ಗುಲಾಮರು ಮೂಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೇಗೆ ಕುಳಿತಿದ್ದಾರೆ.”

(Translation- If you vote for Congress, it is like voting for Pakistan. See how the slaves of Pakistan are sitting in the corner of Pakistan.)

The above post was shared by more than 4,600 facebook users.

FACT CHECK

When NewsMobile fact-checking team checked the above post, we found that the picture is FAKE.

We found the original picture, in which only Imran Khan and Pakistan’s Army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa can be seen. Behind them are four empty chairs.

The picture was posted by the official twitter handle of Pakistan Government on April 4, 2019. The caption of the Tweet reads- “Prime Minister Imran Khan meets Army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa. Discuss important issues related to security in the meeting.”

The FAKE vs Real collage proves that the photo is photoshopped.
