Russian PM submits resignation to President Putin

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev resigned on Wednesday and indicated that President Vladmir Putin will appoint, a new government.

With this resignation, the entire cabinet stands dissolved. They have been asked to continue till a new arrangement is made.

This comes hours after President Vladimir Putin, in his annual address to the Parliament called on the authorities to initiate a series of sweeping constitutional changes.

Putin in his address also said that the government hasnt fulfilled many of their development related functions.

It is expected that he will be appointed in the Security council.

Medvedev has held the position of the Prime Minister since 2012, when he stepped down as the President to make way for the return of Putin, as the President.
