A day after former Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia joined BJP, Rahul Gandhi on Thursday spoke on his defection, saying he abandoned his ideology because he was worried about his political future.
“This is a fight of ideology, on one side is Congress & BJP-RSS on the other. I know Jyotiraditya Scindia’s ideology, he was with me in college, I know him well. He got worried about his political future, abandoned his ideology and went with RSS,” Gandhi told reporters.

Scindia, who had served Congress for 18 years, resigned from the party on Tuesday and a day after moved to the BJP. While joining the BJP, Scindia said the Congress had lost touch with reality and was no longer the party it used to be.

Gandhi further said that Scindia will neither get respect nor he will be satisfied in the BJP. “Reality is that he will not get respect there (BJP) and he will not be satisfied. He will realize this, I know because I have been friends with him for long. What is in his heart and what is coming out of his mouth is different,” he said.
