Fact Check: Lemon and baking soda cannot cure Coronavirus

Claims have been circulating online stating that drinking lemon mixed with baking soda as hot tea every afternoon can kill the Coronavirus.

The post uploaded on April 5, further claims that the cure came from Isreal where no deaths have happened because of the virus.

We checked the WHO website for cures of Coronavirus, and it reiterated that there is no cure for COVID-19.

Further, we checked if there were any casualties in Israel due to the virus. We found various articles on the internet that reported that the death toll in Isreal had risen to 46 by April 5, 2020.

Hence, the claim is false and taking lemon mixed with baking soda will not kill the Coronavirus.
