Fact Check: The woman in this picture is NOT Akshay Kumar’s mother; here’s the truth

A picture of Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar with an old lady is being shared on social media with a claim that she is his mother.

FACT CHECK 

NewsMobile fact-checked the above post and found that the claim attached to the picture is false.

We put the image through Reverse Image search and found a post by photojournalist Viral Bhayani, where he shared the same picture with the same caption.

When we scanned through the comments on the post, we found a comment by actor Pragati Mehra stating that the woman in the picture is her mother.

According to her comment, the pic has been lifted off her Insta feed. So, we checked her Insta Account and found the original picture uploaded on MAY 6, 2017.
