Fact Check: Video of men in uniform mourning is NOT related to recent India-China face-off

A video is widely being shared on social media, where people in military uniforms can be seen crying. It is being claimed that video is from Ladakh where 20 Indian soldiers lost their lives in a violent skirmish with China in Galwan valley recently.

FACT CHECK 

NewsMobile fact-checked the video and found that it has no relation with the recent face-off between India and China.

We extracted the keyframes of the video and put them through Reverse Image Search. The search led us to the a video that was uploaded on YouTube in 2019.

The same video was uploaded by several YouTube channels in February 2020 as well.

NewsMobile independently couldn’t verify the origin or context of the video. However, based on our investigation, it can be safely concluded that the video is old and has no relation with the recent India-China clash that took place on the night of June 15-16, 2020.
