Ever since the farmers’ protest began at various Delhi borders, the variety of food being served at the agitation spots has been making headlines.
Team NewsMobile visited the Singhu Border on Lohri and came across a ‘Popcorn Langar’ seva there. As a part of the tradition, people relish popcorns along with peanuts and other sweet delicacies on the occasion of Lohri. Keeping that in mind, a popcorn langar stall was put up at the Singhu Border. The protesting farmers were seen enjoying popcorns from this unique langar seva set up there.
Meanwhile, farmers at the Singhu Border celebrated Lohri by burning copies of the new farm laws.

The Supreme Court, while hearing petitions challenging the new farm laws as well as the ones related to the ongoing protests at Delhi borders, stayed the implementation of the three farm laws until further orders on Tuesday. The court also issued a notice on the Delhi Police’s application seeking to stop the proposed tractor rally by protesting farmers on Republic Day.

The Supreme Court also formed a committee to discuss the three farm laws with the farmers and the government and asked it to submit its report within two months. The court said the first sitting of the committee, formed to listen to the grievances of farmers and views of the government, should be held within 10 days.
The farmers have been protesting at various Delhi Borders against the three new farm laws – Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020, the Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Act, 2020, and the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020.
