FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checked the above post and found that the claim is fake.
We ran a Reverse Image Search on the picture and found the picture in a report by weather.com dated September 25, 2019. The headline of the report read, ‘Strong Pakistan Earthquake Kills At Least 22, Injures Over 700’.
The caption of the picture read, ‘A news cameraman films a damaged road following an earthquake on the outskirts of Mirpur, Pakistan, on Sept. 24, 2019. (AAMIR QURESHI/AFP/Getty Images)’.
Since the caption mentioned Getty images, we checked their website and found the picture on the website.
According to the caption, at least 19 people were killed and 300 wounded after a shallow earthquake rattled north-eastern Pakistan. The tremor tore car-sized cracks into roads and heavily damaging infrastructure.
The incident was covered by other news organisations as well. Read reports here and here.
Hence, based on the above information, we can say that the picture is old and unrelated to the earthquake that jolted the valley on February 12, 2021.
