Fact Check: No, This Picture Does Not Show Rahul Gandhi Carrying A Woman

A picture has gone viral on social media platforms showing a man carrying a woman in his arms with the claim that the man in this picture is Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.

A Facebook user shared the image with a caption in Hindi that translates to, “Hey is it that or is it my eyes illusion. He keeps going to Nepal and Bangkok that’s why asking.”

FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the viral image and found it was shared with a false claim.

On performing a Reverse Image Search, we found the same image on the stock images website Alamy.com with the caption, “JAMIE DORNAN and DAKOTA JOHNSON return as Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele in “Fifty Shades Freed,” the climactic chapter based on the worldwide bestselling “Fifty Shades” phenomenon. (2018) Universal Studios.”

We found the same image was carried in several other news articles stating that it was a scene from the movie ‘Fifty Shades of Freed.’


Therefore, with the above information, it can be concluded that the picture in question is from a movie and is being shared with a false claim. The person carrying a woman in his arms in the viral photo is actor Jamie Dornan and not Rahul Gandhi.
