New Delhi: In the wake of Bharat Bandh on Monday amid the stir over the Agnipath Recruotmemt Scheme, security forces have been deployed in several parts of the country as a precautionary measure. In recent days, violent protests were witnessed in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and West Bengal by army aspirants.

- Due to agitation over the Agnipath scheme, 181 Mail Express cancelled and 348 passenger trains were cancelled. Partially cancelled are 4 Mail Express and 6 passenger trains. No diverted trains: Ministry of Railways

- Members of Congress will sit on a ‘Satyagraha’ at 5 PM on Monday. “We’ll sit on Satyagraha at Jantar Mantar today, & in the evening at 5 pm we’lll meet the President and demand that Agnipath scheme be withdrawn…The scheme should first be discussed with youth & in Parliament, but before that, it should be withdrawn: Congress’ Ajay Maken”
- West Bengal | Security personnel deployed at Howrah Station, Howrah Bridge, Santragachi Junction, Shalimar railway station and other locations in Howrah.
- Bihar | Security personnel deployed at Dak Bungalow Chauraha in Patna.
- In Faridabad near Delhi, police spokesperson Sube Singh said they are trying to avert any untoward incident. Roadblocks have been set up in various places and more than 2,000 policemen will be fielded on Monday.
- Punjab Police directed to remain on high alert ahead of ‘Bharat Bandh’.
- All schools in Jharkhand will remain closed on Monday in the wake of the “Bharat Bandh” called by certain organisations, the state education officials informed.
- Union Cabinet on June 14 approved a recruitment scheme for Indian youth to serve in the three services of the Armed Forces called Agnipath and the youth selected under this scheme will be known as Agniveers
