A video of a bulldozer crushing Ganpati idols is being shared on social media with a claim that this was filmed recently in a BJP-ruled state.
The caption read, “ভাগ্যিস এটা বিজেপির রাজ্যের ঘটনা। অবিজেপি রাজ্যে বিশেষ করে বাংলায় হলে এতোক্ষণ রাষ্ট্রপতি শাসনের দাবি উঠে যেতো দিলু গান্ডু এবং চাড্ভিগ্যাং সরকার এর তরফ থেকে। কিন্তু বিজেপি রাজ্যের ঘটনা বলে হিন্দু খতড়ে মে পড়বে না”
(Translation: Fortunately, this incident took place in a state ruled by BJP. If it had happened in non-BJP states, especially in Bengal, then the demand for President’s rule would have been raised by Dilu Gandu and the Chadvigang governments. But the BJP will not face the wrath of the Hindus because the incident took place in their state)

NewsMobile fact-checked the post and found the video to be old.
We extracted keyframes of the video and after putting it in the InVid tool, it directed to a tweet from 2019 featuring similar visuals. Vijay Nehra, the then Commissioner of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation had tweeted the visuals on August 11, 2019.
According to the tweet, Dashama idols were kept beside the banks of the Sabarmati river instead of immersing them to avoid water pollution.
A Twitter user replied to Nehra with the same video that is now being shared with a misleading claim.
On searching further, we found similar visuals in a report by ABP Asmita dated August 11, 2019. “Devotees left idols of Dashama open on the riverfront in Ahmedabad,” the video was titled.
